Empty Places
The places stored with emptiness which
billow for wanting. Thirsty white clouds,
vaulted tree trunks, arching plant stems,
expanses of fallow fields. Pebble-lined
river beds elongated for spring swelling rain.
Cold troughs of space wooing new stars.
My porous skin soaking water in, a dilating
heart, lungs rising with the soul's soft sigh.
